360 Walk Capture Instructions

Step-by-step guide for capturing a 360 Walk

Navigate to floorplan


Open the GoCapture app

Log in with your Multivista account or tap Continue with SSO.

Select a project

Choose a project to open its floorplan dashboard.

Select a floorplan

Choose the floorplan for this capture session.

Connect to camera


Tap "Capture"

Tap Capture to see the available capture modes.

Tap "360 Walk"

Select 360 Walk to get started.

Read the message and tap "Open Settings"

Read the on-screen message, then tap Open Settings to go to your phone's settings.

Connect to Insta360 Wi-Fi network

  1. Open your phone's Wi-Fi settings and make sure Wi-Fi is on.

  2. Find and connect to your camera's network: [Camera model] [Last 6 digits of serial number]

Enter Insta360 Wi-Fi password

Find your password on the camera itself:

  1. On your camera, swipe down from the top of the screen.

  2. Tap the Settings icon (gear), then tap Wi-Fi Settings → Wi-Fi Info.

  3. Enter the password shown on your camera screen.

📝 Settings icon placement may vary by camera model.

Capture 360 Walk


Set your start location

Once connected, place yourself on the floorplan.

  1. In the GoCapture app, tap 360 Walk.

  2. Tap and drag the crosshair to your exact position on the floorplan.

  3. Pinch the floorplan to zoom in or out, or use the magnifying glass icon.

  4. Tap Set Start Location when done.

⚠️ Use any visible reference point; doors, rooms, or windows to pinpoint your position accurately.

Tap the record button

Your start location is set. The record button is now available.

  1. Hold the camera above your head, front lens pointing in the direction you're facing.

  2. Tap the Record button to begin your 360 Walk.

📝 Need to adjust your start location? Tap the back arrow to make changes.

Start your walk

Once the timer appears, begin your walk.

  1. Walk in a straight line for 2 seconds, this initializes tracking

  2. Walk at a steady, moderate pace. Keep your arm steady, camera in one hand

  3. At corners, walk a small arc. Do not pivot or spin in place.

  4. When you're done, tap the Stop button.

Set your end location

When the recording stops, place yourself on the floorplan.

  1. Tap and drag the crosshair to your exact position.

  2. Pinch the floorplan to zoom in or out, or use the magnifying glass icon.

  3. Tap Set End Location when done.

⚠️ Use any visible reference point; doors, rooms, or windows to pinpoint your position accurately.

Upload 360 Walk


Transfer video from camera to phone.

After setting your end location, the video transfers automatically to the GoCapture app.

⚠️ Do not turn off the screen or exit the app during this process.

Upload video from GoCapture app

The video has transferred to the app and is ready to upload to the system.

Tap Upload Video to go to the upload section, or tap New Capture to record another walk.

Upload using Wi-Fi or mobile data

Choose how you'd like to upload.

⚠️ For the best experience, connect to a Wi-Fi network. If using mobile data, check your signal strength and data limits beforehand.

Upload states

In the upload section, you'll see three states tracking your video's progress.

  1. Pending → Video is ready to upload. Tap the cloud icon to begin.

  2. Processing → Video has been uploaded and is being processed.

  3. Completed → Trajectory path is ready. This typically takes up to 24 hours.

⚠️ Keep the GoCapture app open and your screen on throughout the upload to ensure a smooth and successful transfer.

Delete 360 Walk (Optional)


Delete a video

Videos can only be deleted while in Pending state. To delete, swipe the video card all the way to the left and confirm when prompted.

⚠️ Deleted photos are removed from the marker permanently and cannot be undone. Your phone storage will be freed up once deleted.

Review photo (Optional)


Review your capture

Once your video reaches Completed state, the extracted photos from your walk will appear inside the green markers on the floorplan.

  • Tap a marker to view photo thumbnails, arranged from latest to earliest.

  • Tap a photo to open it in the 360 viewer. From there, you can delete it if needed.

⚠️ Deleted photos are removed from the marker permanently and cannot be undone.
