Set Capture Mode on the Camera
The GoCapture app is designed to set the camera setting for you. However, the X5 camera does not support this yet. We expect this will be addressed in an upcoming firmware release from Insta360.
In the interim you must Switch to the capture mode on the camera before capturing.
Before recording a 360 Walk
On the Camera set:

Frame Rate: 24
Before Capturing a 360 Photo
On the Camera set:
Shooting Mode:

Timer: Off
Troubleshooting
Symptom: Capture button spins while attempting to capture 360 Walk
Resolution: Quit and Relaunch the app
Symptom: Camera freezes
Resolution: Hold power button down on the camera until the camera turns off. Turn the camera back on. Reconnect phone to camera Wi-FI
X5 Settings
In addition to the setting above, using the X5 with GoCapture requires that the Screen Auto Sleep is set to Never.
Set Screen Auto Sleep to Never
Turn on the Insta360 camera
Swipe down to open the Shortcut menu
Tap the nut icon in the upper right to open the Settings
Tap General
Tap Screen Auto Sleep
Select Never
Swipe up to exit Settings
